|Helsingborg is a
city and the seat of Helsingborg Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden
and is the centre of an area in the Øresund region. Helsingborg
is the closest point to Denmark, with the Danish city Elsinore (Helsingør)
clearly visible on the other side of the strait of Øresund about
4 km to the west.
Historic Helsingborg, with
its many old buildings, is a scenic coastal city. The buildings are a blend
of old-style stone-built churches and a medieval fortress (Kärnan)
in the city centre, which has stood guard in Helsingborg for over 600 years,
and more modern commercial buildings. The streets vary from wide avenues
to small alley-ways. Kullagatan, the main pedestrian shopping street in
the city, was the first pedestrian shopping street in Sweden.
Helsingborg has an elite
football (soccer) team, Helsingborgs IF. Their home stadium is Olympia.
Henrik Larsson is the most famous of the club's former players.

for winter activities, particularly skiing. Indeed, Sweden is known for
its great slopes. There are over twenty spectacular Sweden ski resorts,

|Of all the Sweden ski resorts,
Are is the one you'll want to visit. Located in Jamtland and host to the

You can also consider going
to Riksgransen, which is considered one of the best Sweden ski resorts
for intermediate skiing.

and various opportunities for snowboarding.
|For beginner skiiers, on
the other hand, Vallasen ski resort is the place to go. Just a few miles
south of the city of Helsingborg, Vallasen is perfect
for beginners because of its gentle slopes and soft snow. Its ski school
also offers both private and group classes for those who want to learn
If you're bringing the entire
family, then you might want to book your ski holidays at Idre Fjall. Aside
from offering a variety of slopes for both experts and beginners, Idre
Fjall is also known among the Sweden ski resorts as the best one when it
comes to providing great food and entertainment. There are shows for adults,
discos for teens and even story hours for kids.
Do you want to do more than
just skiing? Then spend a few days at Hemavan. Hemavan offers an array
of outdoor winter activities apart from skiing, such as riding a snowmobile
or snow scooter, dog-sledding or fishing at Lake Tarnasjon.
These are just some of the
popular Sweden ski resorts which make Sweden a great destination for ski
holidays. To decide where you're staying, just consider the ages and skill
levels of your family or group, along with your budget.
Still having a hard time
deciding? Then why not spend a few days in a number of ski resorts than
just staying weeks in one? You're sure to have more fun and excitement
- and the best ski holidays of all.
