Escape
to a lovely three (3) bedroom, two (2) bathroom home with a spacious balcony
situated directly on the beach in a small fishing village. Enjoy the private
beach and warm tranquil waters outside your door. The beach is great for
swimming, shelling, fishing and watching some of the most beautiful sunsets
you will ever see.
Celestun
is a small town and is completely safe for tourists. You can walk anywhere
in town. The house is on the edge of town, so it is quiet and reasonably
private. The house is fully equipped with modern kitchen appliances and
utensils. |

dining room is adjacent to the kitchen. Each downstairs bedroom has two
(2) single beds and a hammock. The upstairs suite has a double-bed, hammock,
dressing room, and a bathroom.
The
house also comes with a servant who will do the cleaning, laundry, cooking
(pay extra) and shopping. The cost for this service is only thirty five
dollars ($35.00) per week. This charge is not optional. The servant is
also the overseer of the property and resides on the premise in completely
separate quarters. |

Where
is Celestun???? It's at the end of the modern world. Find Merida, the capital
of the Yucatan province on a map. Celestun is fifty (50) miles {approx.
eighty-four (84) kilometers} West on the Western shore of a small peninsula.
Public transportation is offered several times a day from Merida. It is
only a one and a half (1½) hour drive from Merida if you have a
car. Rentals are available in Cancun or Merida at the airport. Celestun
is the only village in a wildlife and flamingo preserve. Boats are available
to take you to see thousands of flamingos and for fishing. There are Mayan
Ruins, abandoned haciendas and a variety of things to do.
Casa
DH is really best for getting away from it all. There are only four (4)
or five (5) houses on thirty (30) miles of beach North and South of Celestun.
You can get by without Spanish, but bring a phrase book. It will be an
excellent time to practice Spanish.
