NH Collection Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening in the capital of Sicily the new NH Collection Palermo Palazzo Sitano. The property nestles on the central Via Vittorio Emanuele in the heart of Palermo. The iconic property is tucked away in a Baroque atmosphere, close to the theaters and architectural jewels of Palermo and marks the brand’s second hotel opening in Italy in 2025. This follows the opening of NH Collection Alagna Mirtillo Rosso, a property that caters to the mountain and family hotel segment and nestled in the heart of the Pennine Alps.
Meanwhile, the NH Collection Palazzo Sitano marks NH Collection Hotels & Resorts, Minor Hotels’ premium brand, second hotel in Sicily and bringing the number of Minor Hotels’ properties on the island to six.

History of Palazzo Sitano

The Palazzo Sitano was originally constructed between 1712 and 1860, and is a refined example of Baroque architecture. The building was originally made up of three different aristocratic residences and has now been transformed into a hotel that blend s its historic charm with contemporary comfort.
Moreover, the building is on the same block as the San Francesco Church and former Convent and preserves its original features, including the main door, original period windows in the restaurant and breakfast area. It also still features its Baroque décor, painted ceilings, classic cast-iron balconies and arches in the hotel’s common rooms.
