Three recommendations for a great sea cruise this year

A sea cruise is one of the ideal ways to explore this wonderful world. You can take things a little slower, relax on deck and stop at fascinating locations along the way. The following are three varied and recommended cruise destinations – including Costa Rica, Croatia, Egypt and Jordan.

Sea cruise

1. Wildlife cruise from Costa Rica to Panama

Costa Rica is one of the most unique and ecologically diverse countries in South America. This is one country that is doing its utmost to protect endangered species and preserve the environment.

A luxury cruise will take you on a tour of the Costa Rica mainland coast and around the archipelago islands. Visit the Manuel Antonio National Park, with its 109 mammal species and 184 species of birds in the lush, evergreen forests.

The wildlife cruise from Costa Rica then heads to the Osa Peninsula and the Corcovado National Park, where you will visit the old growth rainforest and the mangrove swamps. Explore 13 different major ecosystems along the way. End up the cruise in beautiful Panama.

2. Cruise through Croatia

Croatia Cruise

If you have eight days to spare, you can cruise the coastline of Croatia. This is one of the best ways to see all of the country’s major historic cities in style. The cruise ship will stop off at Dubrovnik, Hvar, Korcula, Pula and Split, as it winds its way through the charming and picturesque islands of Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast.

With stop-offs, you can experience all the history and splendour of the cities, go island hopping and visit secluded beaches along the way.
Kvarner Bay, Croatia
The Telegraph reports on another cruise destination on the northern tip of Croatia. While some destinations in the country are becoming popular with tourists, Kvarner Bay is an exception and is quieter, even in the summer months. Their cruise correspondent, Julia Mora, described the cruise as being through “uninhabited islands,” visiting “perfumed gardens” while drinking champagne during a round-trip cruise from Opatija to Kvarner Bay.

3. Monumental cruise through Egypt and Jordan

Imagine a luxury cruise adventure on the Red Sea, heading to Egypt and Jordan and some of the most famous monuments of the ancient world. Heading down the River Nile reveals the colossal Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx. View the Karnak Temple of Luxor and the tombs in the Valley of the Kings.

Heading to Jordan next door, this Arab country has its own impressive collection of archaeological sites and monuments, including the wonders of Petra, where temples, tombs and monuments have been carved from the surrounding pink sandstone. Along the way, enjoy sailing the Red Sea, heading into the Suez Canal and the Gulf of the Suez. Visit beautiful nature reserves and the many lovely seaside resorts along the way.
