“I speak, therefore, I exist”

When we plan a trip, we start very early with preparations. First, we pick the most suitable place we can afford and adjusts to our interests. Once we have decided how we will get there, whether by train, plane, bus or car, we need to find accommodation. Is this place near the main attractions? Is it located in the central area? Is it safe enough to walk? Will we need to rent a car? There are so many things to take care of before going on a trip that we might sometimes forget about one of the main ones. Do we speak the language of the place where we are travelling? Will we be able to communicate with the locals? Are we going to be able to get around easily?

Sometimes the local people are not willing to speak the language of tourists, either because can’t or because they consider it rude when tourists don’t bother learning. When taking French lessons New York people know they are making a good decision, precisely because France is one of the countries where locals appreciate it more when you learn their language and take interest in their culture.

Fortunately, lessons are flexible as regards content and time. If your schedule is tight, you can choose to have your lesson any day of the week, including weekends, at any time of the day, whether it be in the morning, afternoon or evening. Your fully qualified native French speaking tutor can answer all the questions that may arise in relation to the language, the culture and your trip. If you plan on going on a business trip, your lessons can be business oriented as well. Whatever your situation may be, there will be a course that adapts to your needs.

Speaking the language of the country where you are travelling can make the difference between a trip and a journey. We may be there physically, meaning, our bodies are exposed to the foreign culture, but are we our minds plunging into a real travelling experience? Do we really get the cultural nuances? Do we feel the atmosphere? Only by taking real interest will we be able to say that we know that culture. When things are made “for tourists” we don’t really experience life as if we were locals, and so, we can’t say we “know” the life there merely because we were there.

When taking English classes Toronto people do so in order to be surrounded by an English speaking environment while learning the language. In fact, that is the most natural way. On the whole, whether your trip is for fun, for business or for education, learning the language first, will result more than beneficial.
