Adventure Travel Queensland Scuba Vacations - 4 Reasons To Head Down Under!   by Mark Etinger

Your tired and stressed, recession or not, you need a vacation! You go online and Google answers your vacation query with fourteen million results. One result peeks out between the lines, "Queensland - Scuba Dive in Paradise." Closer to a decision you Google, "Scuba Diving Adventures," only to be flooded again with more results then you could pick your nose with. You reverse course and search the term, "Queensland Scuba Diving." Again you are flooded with Scuba Diving deals by every reputable and disreputable Scuba Business from the Whitsundays Islands till Cooktown, (Australia's most northern town). When all you really want to know is: Should I go on a Scuba vacation to Australia!

Well here are four definitive reasons to head down under.

1. People Scuba dive for different reasons. Treasure hunters do it for the bounty. Scientists do it to learn about the underwater ecosystem. Vacationers do it to see Coral Reef. Do know where the largest display of Coral Reef in the world is: Queensland. The "Great Barrier Reef" as it is called, has been listed in every compilation of the "Seven Wonders of the World" for the simple reason that it awes its visitors with its blindingly beautiful and never ending array of corals.

2. Have you ever gone on a vacation to Florida only to get rained out day after day! In Queensland, rain is almost impossible during most of the year. Queensland has a tropical climate, which averages a cool 73 to 91 degrees Fahrenheit for 300 sunny days a year! Beware: In July and August Northern Australia has a Monsoon type rainy season.

3. Many vacationers do not realize, that they leave a huge eco-footprint on many of their vacations. The entire leisure industry that sits beside the "Great Barrier Reef" views their natural treasure as "priceless." Cairns and the Whitsunday Islands have both created special management boards to prevent damage from occurring to the coral due to boats and divers who go out on the reef.

4. For most beginner divers their first training dives are lackluster laps in a swimming pool. Not on the Great Barrier Reef! The Reef is special. Because it sits as an elevated shelf off the Australian coast, the water very shallow, even a half hour out to sea. So visit the Great Barrier Reef for a first time diving experience that won't be a bland and boring on-shore pool tutorial.

Now that you have all the information you need to make your decision. It seems obvious why you should head to "the land down under." For one thing the reef there is the unchallenged king of reefs. Secondly the weather there is downright gorgeous. Third of all Queensland's tourism industry is very eco-conscious. And finally, it is a great place for beginner divers to get their feet wet while having a blast!
